Who is the most famous actor in the Star Wars original trilogy Guinness played Obi Wan in Star Wars (1977) and a few scene cameos in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return Of The Jedi (1983) Ford played Han Solo in Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return Of The Jedi (1983) and The Force Awakens (2015) Ford has probably done more. Such as Indiana Jones film series, Patriot Games, The Fugitive, Witness etc Guinness is the only actor to ever be Oscar nominated for Star Wars film series.

When Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) was made, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil weren't really famous (Ford did American Graffiti (1974) and Apocalypse Now but wasn't released until 1979) Alec Guinness played Obi Wan, mainly in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) and cameos in Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi (1983) Was Guinness famous when he did the film, when I saw the first Star Wars for the first time around 2004 or something, I had only heard of Ford and Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing. I like Peter Cushing, he was in many Hammer horror films, a lot with Christopher Lee who is probably my favourite Star Wars actor. I'm not really interested in Alec Guinness's non-Star Wars films, i think Star Wars was the only thing he really did of interest. he wasn't that good as Obi-Wan, compared to Ewan McGregor. Was Alec Guinness really famous when Star Wars was made in 1976/1977?

I am sure most of you will say Alec Guinness was better, but I think they both did a great job as Obi Wan. He is one of my favorite characters of all time.
