Resolved Question: What is Jackie Evancho's
As far as I know, she has no formal voice or musical training and she can't read music. Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-evancho-idUSBREA0918B20140111 However, in a Q&A, she claims to play piano and violin. Assuming she isn't playing jazz piano or country fiddle violin music, how is she able to play those instruments without being able to read music and without lessons? She has never played either of those instruments in public so her proficiency is unknown.

Resolved Question: When will people realize
Okay, I have a stupid experience related to this.
Last week, I went to a music shop with my teacher to buy a book. After that, we would drive to my home and I would have a lesson. While walking to get to his car, I met a classmate of mine and after chatting a bit, she asked me who that man was and I said that he is my singing teacher. She asked my teacher what kind of music he is teaching and he said that he is teaching classical. The girl's reaction:
"So you are an opera singer, like Jackie Evancho?" and my teacher's answer: "She is much better than Evancho, you can't even compare them". :P
I can't describe my teacher's facial expression, he was trying so hard not to laugh that his face had turned red. He knows how much I dislike classical crossover singers, especially Jackie Evancho and he knows that I hate it when people compare me to her. When he finally got in the car, he started laughing so hard that he got tears in his eyes. It wasn't that funny but I was laughing too, because the way my teacher was laughing was hilarious xD But it wasn't funny, it was annoying.
Seriously, will people ever be able to tell the difference between classical crossover and opera? As my teacher once said about Jackie Evancho: "Who? That girl with the fake vocal weight?" Let's make a few things clear.
This is an opera singer:

This is classical crossover singer, often used as an example of terrible technique by those who teach classical:

When I sang "o mio babbino caro" in a concert, my father said just before my performance: "Remember, do NOT sing it like Evancho" :p And I didn't have a microphone...
