Open Question: Being proud of your heritage?
So I was watching this speech from Lana Parrilla. She was collecting an award. But she's from Brooklyn NY. Her mum is American and her dad Puerto Rican. Now she said in her speech she's proud to be Latina and also said that she stands there a proud Puerto Rican.
It's confused me because also she's classed as an American from being born and raised in NY. Can people say that they're proud such n such because of their heritage? im half Scottish and proud to have Scottish heritage. Is it in a way acceptable to say I'm proud to be Scottish? Not for legal stuff but socially? Like the way Lana Parrlia is proud of her Puerto Rican side?

Open Question: A lot of Lana Parrilla's fans
She's Puerto Rican AND Sicilan descent from her parents. So why is her 'whiteness' ruled out, but only her Latina/Puerto Rican background is valid? I know that people think that her character is white-washed on Once Upon A Time, but saying that she "isn't white" is just as bad as saying that she "isn't latina", don't you think?

Open Question: URGENT! Comic con October
The only reason I have bought tickets for comic con in October 2025, London is to see my idol Lana Parrilla, and maybe other once upon a time characters. I have now heard they don't know if she attends it. Does anyone know?
I really want to meet her!!

In this vedio Lana does some gesture as she says the word 'complicated'. I don't get it. Is it a kind of joke? What's she intending? Why people laughed? English isn't my first language. So anybody can help??
