Resolved Question: What's the name of this
I'm not looking for the movie "I Married a Monster from Outer Space." An estranged wife of a reporter asks him to take care of their daughter because she's going out of town. It turns out that the wife is an alien disguised as a human and she's about to board a ship w/ other aliens disguised as humans but the husband doesn't know this. The husband teams up w/ another female reporter. He decides to pay a visit to his wife's hometown where he met her. What he finds is a town that hasn't aged and it remains somewhere in the 50s. The town looks like a nostalgic rock n' roll era. He met one person that's dressed from that era that acts and seems strange. As the movie unravels it's revealed that there are aliens living in that town who took it over and transferred the people who lived there into some kind of ball of light. The reporter wanders around town with his German Shepard that mysteriously disappears after chasing something unknown. The man is confused and knows there's definitely something wrong with the town. I think the wife told him she was going to the town for treatment but he doesn't find her there. Instead he goes into abandoned houses and stumbles into an abandoned church. He hears a humming noise and that's where the aliens are transforming the people into light. Towards the end of the movie the reporter defeats the aliens by confronting his wife. She has to confess that she's not human and has to go home to outer space. There's also a ship coming to take her and the other aliens home to their planet. They came to Earth to experiment with how humans lived. She tells her husband she doesn't want her daughter to go with her because she believes she belongs on Earth. The husband is shocked because he did not expect any of this. A big, black, submarine-like ship appears in the sky. I don't remember how the aliens went up to the ship, but somehow the alien ended up there with his daughter. The aliens wanted to take the daughter and the husband was pleading with his wife to do something so they could escape. The alien wife draws lightning from her finger to open the ship and he falls safely to the ground. When the ship disappears a whole bunch of balls of light are floating into town and then people are appearing. It's as if the spell has been broken. His dog comes running to him and the female reporter who was working w/ him appears in a tree. All of the townspeople come back and they are all dressed in 50s garb; they never knew they were gone. I believe the movie was from around 1970, I remember watching it on VHS. Does anyone know the name of this movie or any of the performers, director, etc? I'd like to watch it again. Thanks, ^_^ It's not "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "50 Foot Woman", "My Stepmom's an Alien", or any kind of Steven Spielberg movie.

Resolved Question: Weird, weird question.
I was very very young and I have memories of this movie I saw or saw parts of. I'm talking like between the ages of 5-10, and I'm 28 now. So it might have been made in the 70's or 80's. All I remember is a family laying on beds or tables and their bodies started to wrinkle and fold up starting at the feet and then I remember blue balls of light floating around. I think maybe the people we're contained in the balls of light. Any ideas? Those were my only memories. I know its weird but I've had this in my head for a long time. And it's just one of those "its driving you nuts not knowing" things. I can't find anything on Dieing (Dying Wish and I don't think it was Beetlejuice, I remember that movie.
