Resolved Question: Why were Christians
We all know how Christians despised Mary Tyler Moore because she wore slacks on the Δick Van Dyke Show, and in those days (1961-1966) a sizable portion of the Christian community thought women wearing slacks went against Deuteronomy 22:5. Christians actively protested, including boycotting the show's sponsors. Yet Sandy Duncan, a nice Protestant girl from Texas who the Christians set up to imitate the Mary Tyler Moore show, barely made it through two seasons despite the fact she wore skirts.
Why were Christians so unsuccessful on this? Was this the start of their trend of failing on most endeavours they have been experiencing for the last 50 years? No problem with the pun, Jerome. Only about 4 of us on here would get that one. Right, Captain Fantastic. The Christians were not quick to forget, and continued their opposition of Mary Tyler Moore well into the 70's when she had her own show. *Captain Sarcastic.

Resolved Question: Are the roles played by
MTM seemed to exhibit a lot of angst as Laura Petrie and Mary Richards in TV roles. During at least one recorded interview she expressed admiration for the Mary Richards character she played. Do you feel that this role is one which should be admired and followed. Is this role an healthy approach to life especially if it is copied by a young person?
