Resolved Question: Fathers? Why Jesus'
Reference: Matthew 18:23-35 (re Jesus' Father)
Summary: servant = forgiven + unforgiven + tormented.
Conclusion: Jesus' Father is both nice + nasty afterward.
Reference: Luke 6:36 (re Your Father)
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Point: Seems like two different Fathers (two different Gods).
- Your Father: Grace: is merciful, which multiplies peace
- Jesus' Father: Law: is nice + nasty, which multiplies fear
- Higher God: Grace: is harmless (Eg: Hebrews 7:26)
- God on high: Law: is also peril us (Eg: 2Timothy 3:1)
- Grace isn't threatening, because it is merciful
- The Law is threatening, because it's not merciful
- Grace: I will never leave you, nor ever forsake you: Friend.
- Law: I will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you: Enmity.
So then, since it's Father's Day, which Father do you prefer?
- Your Father: Grace: is "perfect" Love (God): Mt 5:48
- Jesus' Father: Law: isn't perfect Love (God): Heb 10:1
Hint: Jesus had to "go away" for comfort to come: John 16:7

Resolved Question: If Jesus is telling us
Jesus says clearly in Matthew 26:52 that whoever picks up the sword or todays times "gun", will perish by the sword. Then how is signing up for the army pleasing to God and his son Jesus?
God clearly tells us that vengeance is his. So, shouldn't we allow him to settle matters?
