Resolved Question: Will Mikhail Prokhorov
Brooklyn Nets Starting 5 Contracts for 2013-2014 season (Williams, Johnson, and Lopez's contracts all increase in the 2014-2015 season but I'm not counting that):
Deron Williams: $18,466,130
Joe Johnson: $21,466,718
Paul Pierce: $15,333,334
Kevin Garnett: $12,443,735
Brook Lopez: $14,693,906
Altogether equals a total cap hit (for only the starting 5) of $82,401,823.
The projected Salary Cap for the 2013-2014 Season is: $58,500,000
The projected Luxury Tax threshold for the 2013-2014 Season is: $71,600,000 million
So starting 5 alone, the Brooklyn Nets are way over the Luxury Tax. The Miami Heat's entire team is at a total of $86,464,629. Although if you add just Jason Terry to the equation (he was traded to the Nets as well), that gives the Nets a salary of $87,626,823.

Resolved Question: How can the (New Jersey)
Joe Johnson due- roughly 90 million over the next 4 years
Deron Willams- 5 years 98.75 million
Gerald Wallace- 4 years 40 million
Kris Humphries- 2 years 24 million
Brook Lopez- 4 years 61 million
Thats five players scheduled to make approximately 71.1 million dollars next season alone. They also have to pay the other 11 players on the payroll. Now I understand that Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z have more than enough money to make the world go round and all, and I also understand the extreme revenue stream that the move to Brooklyn and the logo change (jerseys, hats, t-shirts , etc.) will create. They will have the money necessary to pay these players, but how does can this team work under the new CBA, the NBA's soft cap, and the luxury tax that will stem from their crazy payroll?
Even if they do trade Lopez and Humphries for Howard in Orlando, they cannot until Mid January 2013, and even if the trade happens then, Howard's contract will be about the same if not more than the two combined. Just trying to figure out how under the NBA's soft cap they can field this team.
Thanks for the help in advance!-
Dave

Resolved Question: Is the Brooklyn Nets
Not to mention smartest. If he the Nets land Dwight Howard, which they probably will, you realize how much revenue their organization is going to garner? Mikhail is majority owner, a billionaire, and now he's going to be mega rich. LOL,
BQ: Will the Nets, with Dwight Howard, make it to the Finals this year? lol yeah Mark Cuban who destroyed a championship team, and whose team is currently losing their best players seemingly by the day.Yeah, he's the best alright=p
