Resolved Question: Why do I like old
First of all, sorry for not so good English, I was born and live in central Europe. I am 20 years old male and a huge film enthusiast, with a pretty good film count for my age. I prefer Soviet/Russian/Ukrainian and British cinema, closely followed by Italian, American and Japanese. Before few years, I was mostly watching newer and more popular Hollywood stuff and I even considered films from 1970's to be "very, very old". However, some two years ago, I started to watch more and more old films (period 1920-1960) and completely fell in love with them. Nowadays, I rarely find enjoyable new films or TV shows. I don't know which is the reason, but they are just very boring for me. For example, I have watched many of those "acclaimed" films or shows and they're either boring for me or, at best, on the level with average older movies. Sure, I like directors such as Aleksandr Sokurov or Chan-wook Park, and some newer American movies like "The Green Mile" or "LA Confidential" or Austrian "Das weiße Band" would probably make my Top 100 list and I find Nikita Mikhalkov's movie "12" to be a masterpiece, despite being a remake, but those are really few compared to the older directors I like (Tarkovskiy, Hitchcock, Malle, Lang, Murnau, Bergman, Bava, etc.). I found the fall in quality especially huge in Italian and American cinema (my favourite cinemas of the 1960's). I would like to know what can be the reason that I dislike new films, as I am among the few people I know which even watches older films and probably the only one which prefers them. Most people say it's nostalgia, but I can't be nostalgic about a movies which were made before even my (grand)parents were born. It can't be an influence of my family or friends, since they (even parents) prefer new films. I guess it must be something in the films themselves what differs old and new movies, but I can't figure it out myself.

Resolved Question: Nikita Mikhalkov's
Please, can anyone tell me where I can find Nikita Mikhalkov's manifest translated into English? The manifest titled "Law and Truth - Manifest of Enlightened Conservatism" was published last year (2010), but I am having a hard time fiding the English translation. I only have the original in Russian. Thanks!!

Resolved Question: Movies that are directed
Let's see how many people can even name a whole list of movies that are directed by an actor or an actress that is also in the movie, they don't have to have a leading part, but as long as they also did have a part in the movie as well. Here are a couple of examples Rookie of the Year was directed by Daniel Stern who was making his directorial debut, was also in the movie playing the pitching coach of the Chicago Cubs. Also Whip It was directed by Drew Barrymore that was also making her directorial debut, and she also acted as one of Ellen Page's teammates in the movie as well.
