Resolved Question: Why did Orson Scott Card
I am doing a project in English about an author Orson Scott Card. And I was wondering what made him pursue writing, and most notable science fiction writing.

Resolved Question: Question for Orson Scott
I have read that author Orson Scott Card "is homophobic" "is a bigot" "is racist" and that he "really really hates gay people."
So clearly, the mob has turned against him. But I've never been one to just take the mob's word for something. So I have two questions:
1) What did Card actually say?
2) How do I know he actually said it?
Some of his detractors are also claiming that his books aren't any good, and that all of his books are nothing but Morman propaganda. But I've read enough of his work to know neither of these things are true.
(He IS a Mormon believer, and he HAS written Mormon material for his fellow believers. But that is hardly all he wrote. Card is best known for his outstanding sci-fi novels and short fiction collections.

Resolved Question: Is Orson Scott Card
Think about it. If you've read his books they are rich in themes of tolerance, exploring the minds of the unknown, loving that which you don't understand, etc, etc.
It baffles me that the man who wrote the prose and who orchestrated these philosophical perspectives can turn around and spout such hate, bigotry and intolerance. It such blatant & stark contrast to his themes.
So I wonder if Orson Scott Card is writing as Demosthenes and he himself is, truly, the kind and understanding valentine. Writing to incite the masses and bring out the Locke in us all.
Obviously, I am romanticizing the reality of it all, which is Orson is a strict Mormon and therefore represents that religions views, but wouldn't be interesting if that was what he was doing?

Resolved Question: Literary merit for
hello my teacher (highschool) as asked me to justify the reading of Ender's Shadow by 1. showing proof of a literary reward, 2. showing an academic article that recommends the book, or 3. showing a university site that recommends the novel. Anything that can help me with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Note: If an award, it can not be based on appeal, it has to be from literary merit.
