Resolved Question: East or West coast in
My girlfriend and I are taking a trip to to Costa Rica in January, arriving in San Jose the 4th and leaving the 12. So we have just about a week. We have narrowed it down to two options.
Option 1: Hitting the west coast starting in the Osa peninsula/San Jiminez and working our way back up, to Quepos and then back to San Jose.
Option 2: Hit the east coast and go from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, up to Limon, and then back to San Jose.
We understand that January is part of the "dry season". We really would like to snorkel and explore some rainforests, as well as see some wildlife. Being a photographer I would love to do all of these things. I guess my questions are...
1. Where will we experience more sunny days? I know the Osa peninsula gets a ton of rain, and that during the dry season, the east and northeasts part of costa rica get a ton of rain, but the southeast gets a little less. Where are we likely to experience the least amount?
2. Although it rains often, how long does it rain? Is it everyday all day? Only for a couple hours in the evening? If so what time.
3. Is the Osa peninsula "dangerous"? What I mean is I know there are a lot of poisonous animals, snakes, spiders, etc down in Corcovado. God forbid one of us gets bit, would it be possible to get medical aid relatively quickly down there? I ask because I hear the population is lower opposed to say the northwest or east coast.
As much detail as you can include would be greatly appreciated.

Resolved Question: Best places to go in
I'm planning on going on a week long vacation to Costa Rica so what are the best cities/towns to visit? I want to be by the beach but also have attractions available such as zip lining, ropes courses, white water rafting, and canoeing. I would also love if there was beautiful scenery such as water falls and hiking trails.
