Resolved Question: Renting Laws In The
I live in a house in Hoofddorp, NL with a few other people and my friend here is having a problem with the rental agency. One man from the agency comes and goes in this house whenever he wants to make sure everything's tidy. He also sends other people in here to check things such as heating and plumbing. I would assume that since they're in charge of this property they can come in whenever they want, but my friend says its against the law and they need to ask before coming in. I've even had a very uncomfortable encounter with a strange man walking directly into my room without hesitation while I was home alone and sleeping. It's gotten so bad that the other day my friend got so angry and not only demanded that these men leave, but rang the police to file a complaint. The police said that the tenants are the only ones allowed to freely come and go in & out of this house, but the men from this agency aren't backing down. My friend said since they can't see eye to eye, he will just have to call the police whenever these men step foot into the house. They have now given my friend a letter saying he has a month to find another place to live. I'm from California and know nothing about the laws in the Netherlands, but does this sound as wrong to anyone else as it does to me?
P.S. This friend of mine is a perfect tenant who always pays rent on time, isn't messy (he even cleans up after others) and hasn't damaged anything. Plus there was nothing in the rental agreement about this matter.

Resolved Question: How do I convince my
So here's the situation. I live in the Netherlands. Me and my friend G. want to go shopping in Hoofddorp, which is 152 km (194 miles) away from our home town. We want to go by train; train tickets cost us 14,95 euros (US$ 21). Now G.'s mom is really overprotective - she doesn't want G. to go out to bars or clubs, while that is very common for us here in Holland, and now G.s mom won't allow G. to go with me to Hoofddorp. We would be travelling during daytime and by train, which I think is completely safe - I've done it a lot of times. I'm 16 and G.'s 15. G comes from a Christian family, but absolutely nonstrict - they never attend church, they just read christian newspapers and sometimes the Bible and stuff. G. and I are both girls. What should I do - call G.s mother and explain that it is safe? Or let my mom call her? I don't know what to do anymore and I REALLY want to go on that shopping trip.
