Resolved Question: What are the best places
A group of us is going to Switzerland in early march. This is our rough plan.
Day 1 - Land in Geneva Airport from London at 11am; catch train to Montreux reach by lunchtime.
Explore Montreux for the rest of the day..take a ferry and visit Chillon Castle in the evening, walk along the promenade
Day 2 - Gruyeres (Chocolate factory, ride on lake, berries and cream,) or the Lauasane (vineyards), Vevey
Day 3 – Leave early morning, and check in Interlaken (bernese oberland)
Day trip : walk along the shores of lake of Thun (Thunersee) or lake of Brienz (Brienzersee). Go for a sail and Wengen in the evening
Day 4 - Day Trip to Juangrouch/ Jungfrau Peak; evening at Grindelwald
Day 5 - Day trip to Bern
Day 6 – Early morning leave and check in Zurich
Explore the city
• Opera House
• China Garden
• National Museum
• Patriarchal Guild Houses
• Limmatguai and its medieval Old Town
• Shopping and business center on Bahnhofstrasse
• The clock face at St Peter's Church (the largest in Europe)
Day 7 – Lucerne / Luzern
Day trip to explore Lucerne with possible visits to the Transport Museum, Lion Monument, Lake Lucerne, Chapel Bridge, etc.
Day 8 – Pack and back.
but, i am not sure yet whether i should base in Bern or in Interlaken. How about Basel and the Rhine Fall? Which one is more important? Any recommendations or advice? and does anyone knows any great food in these areas? We are the type of people who like to explore the beauty of nature, different culture, and don't like skiing. =) We need opinion from everyone. Really appreciate all the advice. ^^
