Resolved Question: Stanley Kubrick Films?
Can you tell me which Kubrick films are hard to follow and which aren't? I've only seen Dr. Strangelove and Full Metal Jacket and I really want to see his other films but I'm not sure if they're confusing or not. I can handle a good complex film but not if it's burdened with symbolism and endless hours of analysis. Out of these following films (if you've watched them), can you tell me if I'll be able to understand them easily?: A Clockwork Orange Spartacus 2001: A Space Odyssey The Killing Barry Lyndon Fear and Desire Killer's Kiss Paths of Glory Lolita The Shining Eyes Wide Shut I know that's a lot of films but honestly, Kubrick is praised as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and I'd love to watch all his films because they sound breathtaking and groundbreaking, but if a film is confusing and burdened with analysis then I don't think I'm quite ready for it. Out of the above films, if you've seen any, can you tell me which are accessible and which aren't, and perhaps why?

Resolved Question: Stanley Kubrick vs Alfred
Who was the better director? Kubrick directed films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Dr Strangelove, The Shining, Eyes Wide Shuts etc. Hitchcock directed Vertigo, Psycho, North By Northwest and other films. Both are considered to be the 2 greatest directors in history. I think Kubrick is better as he ventured into every genre, all of his films look unique and different. Hitchcock IMO was good but nowhere near on the level of Kubrick. Hitchcock films tend to look the same, he rarely ventured out of the thriller genre.

Resolved Question: Why do people hate
Especially A Clockwork Orange??????????? The film came out in 1971, extremely risky for Kubrick to do such a thing. And the storyline was brilliant, it was different to other films, other films take about 5-10 minutes to set the story plot of the film, for A Clockwork Orange it took 1 1/2 hours, I'm willing to bet most people who say its bad haven't even seen it all, they only stopped halfway. Then I see people throwing HUGE amounts of hate on 2001, now I shall admit that it was very slow and long in the beginning. But did people even understand the film? Did they understand what the apes where doing touching that Monolith? Do they hate Kubrick films because they compare them to normal everyday films such as Pitch Perfect the Hangover and those kind? And yes I am Kubricks biggest fan :) Paths of Glory is the only film I haven't seen of his, it's meant to be one of his best so I will save that for decades in the future. I don't know what I will do when I say I can't watch anymore Stanley Kubrick films :( I wouldn't know what to watch anymore. What other director will entertain me anywhere near as much as Kubrick entertained me?

Resolved Question: Why do so many people
I absolutely love Stephen King. He's my all time favorite author. So my question is this... Why do so many people like Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining? Have you people actually read The Shining? Kubrick's adaptation is absolute garbage. There are so many deviations from the source material that it barely has the right to call itself The Shining or included the words Based on the novel by Stephen King. Why? Why do people like this sh*tty film. The TV mini series adaptation is 10x better and is actually faithful to King's novel.
