Resolved Question: Rumor surfaces Dave
If Lasorda takes over how long will it take to win the world series? Lasorda still has it because he led the american team to the gold medal in the 2000 olympics.

Resolved Question: Why does Tommy Lasorda
With his 84th birthday yesterday, and his honorable coaching of the Dodgers, people have been talking about the guy like he was a spectacular legend who did nothing but good during his time in the MLB (other than the occasional profanity filled rant).
The reality: He hated his son because he was gay, and after his death from AIDS, refused to acknowledge that he was gay or died of AIDS, and insisted he died of Cancer. Now there's a lot of evil things baseball players have done over the years, but I can't think of one worse than this.
Manny, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Barrry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro, among others, all get criticized to a ridiculous extent for taking steroids, cheating, and egos, but fans don't care about someone who hates his son for homophobic reasons and lies about his death from AIDS? Ty Cobb hated blacks, anti Jackie Robinson people hated them too. What Lasorda did is nothing but homophobia, I remember reading he didn't like having a gay player on the Dodgers either. And it's all the same isn't it? Hatred for a Race is the exact same as hatred for a sexuality.
I don't care if it was popular to have those kind of opinions in those times, you could say the exact same about Cobb.
