Open Question: What is “anguille
am currently reading "The Children of The Sky" and I come across this word. "Anguille borkner" seems like some kind of skill. It has been a long time since I read "A Fire Upon the Deep", I don't remember anything related to this word. I am currently reading "The Children of The Sky" and I come across this word. Resolved Question: Zheng He (Chinese
Greetings.
This may be a strange request but I need to know of fictional pieces featuring Zheng He (I believe his name used to be romanized differently but I'm not sure) as a main character or at least a character with some relevance.
I don't care about the format: Movies, Comics, Manga, TV Shows, Books, it's all good, it doesn't matter if it is realistic or more out there with supernatural elements. Documentaries are not exactly what I'm looking for but if you know any I'd appreciate it as well.
Thanks in advance. @Petrusclavus If you could recall the actual name of the series and some of the books that'd be great. Maybe I can find translations somewhere, it's a something at least.

Resolved Question: What are Vernor's Zones
I'm 65 pages into Vinge's A Fire Upon the Deep and I am little confused. What exactly are Zones of Thought? It seems to be boundaries between radically different stages of technology except if one technology from one zone is brought into another zone then that technology won't work. Why not? Different physics? AI cannot exist in the Slow Zone but can exist in the Beyond? What's preventing intelligence existing in the Unthinking Depths?
I feel like I'm reading a sequel to a book I should have read first.
